Herndon, VA – The LMCC membership elected its Board of Directors during its annual meeting on April 14, 2015, in Washington D.C, and agreed to take action in several matters before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Elected to the Board of Directors as officers were:

– President—Gregory Kunkle, Esq. (American Petroleum Institute),
– Vice President—Farokh Latif (Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials), and
– Secretary/Treasurer—Mark Crosby (Enterprise Wireless Alliance).

Also elected to the Board of Directors as At-Large members were:

– Chief Douglas Aiken (International Municipal Signal Association),
– Michele Farquhar, Esq. (Association of American Railroads), and
– Ralph A. Haller (Forestry Conservation Communications Association).

Among advocacy matters, the membership agreed to file comments in response to the FCC’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking regarding interstitial 12.5 kHz “offset” channels in the 809-817/854-862 MHz band; and will separately suggest to the FCC that it would be prudent for the LMCC to identify frequency coordination processes for 173 MHz telemetry and vehicular repeater systems to ensure that these disparate system technologies may successfully share spectrum without affecting required operational objectives.
